Two Years Binge-Free!!!

I have tears in my eyes as I’m typing this, my screen is all blurry. Today I woke up, even after going out to dinner and dancing with my husband last night, as being someone who hasn’t binged in two years.

When I came downstairs this morning, this is what I found in the kitchen. My husband is so the best. The card attached congratulated me and said there was one rose for every month, and he wished me the strength to reach this many roses in years. I started to cry and haven’t stopped. I am so lucky and so grateful to have such a supportive husband. I remember sitting in OA meetings where people did not have a spouse or someone else close to them in their lives that were supportive of them conquering this eating disorder. Some even had people who thwarted their efforts. But not me, I am very blessed.

I’m crying because I love the gesture and I’m crying because I think the reality of what I’ve done has finally sunk in. My plentiful tears of joy are a good thing. Lord knows I have cried many ‘bad’ tears during my binging days. Tears of disgust and loathing with myself.

What a wonderful way to start the new year.

thank you! i was just where you were a little over two years ago. i had no idea there was a name for my obsession/binging of food for over 30 years. if i can do it, anyone can! hang in there and if i can help in some way, or you just need to vent, i’m here.

I can feel your joy in this post, if that makes any sense. I just can.
